About Us

I live with my husband and children aged 13 and 15 in Calverley. I have been registered since April 2012 and offer care for children aged 3 months and upwards. I collect/drop off at Calverley C of E primary school and Parkside Nursery. We have a spacious open plan playroom/dining room with patio doors that lead out to a secure enclosed garden with a variety of toys.

We vary our routine according to the time of the year and children's interests. We go out every day to playgroups and local places of interest regularly meeting up with other childminders and their children. I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association offering lots of outdoor play with natural resources and learning. I offer lots of creative, messy play such as sticking gluing, painting, baking as well as lots of child-led free play for children to explore their own ideas.

I'm a non smoker,  healthy and offer a reliable service. My home is clean, welcoming and the play areas are bright and colourful making it appealing, yet safe for children. Toys are kept clean and and fit for use. I regularly check them and dispose of any broken toys. I rotate the toys based on each child's age and stage of development. I also provide fun resources based on events and festivals (Christmas, Easter,  Chinese New Year, Pancake Day etc).

I risk assess my home and garden to ensure children can play safely. Children have access to the open plan playroom/dining room, garden and downstairs toilet facilities.  We have house rules and introduce them to the children when they start in the setting appropriate to their age. The rules consist of no jumping on furniture, no running indoors, we take off our outdoor shoes indoors etc.

We have a small young dog who all the children love. She often joins us on our outings and loves being around the children. I have a pet policy and ensure she is never left alone with them.
